水都大阪2009-巨大アヒルちゃん

水都大阪2009、八軒家浜会場に浮かぶ巨大アヒルちゃんに会いに行きました。
高さ9.5m 幅9.5m 長さ11mだそうで、間近で見ると確かに高い。太い。長い。でかい。
今日が展示最終日ということもあってか、水際にはカメラを構える黒山の人だかりが。
川沿いをぶらぶらした後「大阪ステキ発見」と題された写真展へ寄り道して帰宅。

生のアヒルはこんな感じ。

帰宅後に作者 Florentijn Hofman氏のサイトを覗くと、他にも巨大なオブジェが紹介されていました。

Potatoe crates, pallets, wood, straw, rope, metal wire and shrinking foil
It took two months to build the huge Shepherd dog, with assistance of the local youth of this tiny village. “Max” is the watchdog which guards the farm as a cultural heritage.

The Giant of Vlaardingen
2002- 2003
8 x 10,5 x 5,5 meters
Salvaged wood, nails and screws
It took three months to build to a sculpture out of salvaged wood, with the assistance of local people. The sculpture is an assemblage, and although the quality of the wood was poor, it stood on three locations!

どれも大きいですね。三つ目のペンギンの名前が面白いです。

残念ながらアヒルちゃんには今日までしか会えませんが、水都大阪2009自体は10月12日まで開催されているので、他のイベント目当てにまた行ってみようと思います。水上バスに乗ってみたいな。
